Renowned TV Show Builders West Coast Customs Returns With New Episodes of Inside West Coast Customs Featuring the Most Famous Plumber Around, Mario From Mario Kart 7
CORONA, Calif., Jan. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — West Coast Customs (WCC) continues season 2 of their show on Velocity, Inside West Coast Customs January 22, 2012 at 9:00 PM EST for a special episode. Inside West Coast Customs is the next exciting show featuring WCC’s outrageous builds. WCC continues the 2nd season with its most difficult build to date for the world’s most famous plumber, Mario from Nintendo’s Mario Kart 7.
“When Don” Don James Executive Vice President of Nintendo America, “requested the meeting and he told me he needed us to create some of the Mario Kart 7 cars in real life I was excited and ready for the challenge. Then he said they need to have a hang glider for flying and a propeller for underwater maneuvering I thought, he must be joking!” said Ryan Friedlinghaus, founder and CEO of West Coast Customs.
Ryan and his West Coast Customs team take on an “impossible” build. No strangers to a challenge, Nintendo challenges Ryan and his crew to make cars out of digital images and data from a video game. Not one to back down West Coast Customs starts with 2 GEM cars and strips everything but the batteries, wiring and frame. From here they must create scaled size replicas of the Mario Kart and the Bumble V kart from Nintendo’s newest game Mario Kart 7. Join us to see this amazing and unique process and watch West Coast Customs make the impossible a reality!
Owner Ryan Friedlinghaus and his shop have been doing exclusive custom builds for the MTV show Pimp my Ride, TLC’s Street Customs, Street Customs Berlin and now on his new show on Velocity, Inside West Coast Customs. Ryan and his crew are world-renowned for their extreme vehicles, outrageous features and unique designs.
Check out Inside West Coast Customs, Sunday at 9:00 pm EST on Velocity.

07: Toyota Tundra Ultimate Motocross Truck
Why is this the ultimate motocross truck? Because DC Shoes’ motocross riders spilled their guts on everything they would want in a truck, and West Coast Customs made it happen. The Tundra Double Cab 4×4, equipped with a 5.7-liter V-8 and six-speed automatic, is transformed into a roughrider coated in a custom rough-textured paint by Line-X. It receives a suspension lift, courtesy of Camburg Racing, and shocks are provided by Fox. Goodies include a roof rack that doubles as a viewing deck, fold-up side beds, and a suicide tailgate. A gas pump and water pressure washer are stashed under the bed, along with an air compressor.
CORONA, Calif. (KABC) — A company based in Corona has brought Mario Kart to life. Nintendo commissioned West Coast Customs to build two life-sized Mario Karts.
It was part of a promotion to launch “Mario Kart 7,” the latest sequel in the series. The car remodeling company had only 30 days to create the Karts in time for last month’s L.A. Auto Show.
The vehicles can reach up to 30 miles per hour.
One of the Karts is being raffled off, while the other is going to Nintendo’s headquarters.
